About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Need help thanks

Hi, I just need clarification for my upcoming flight.
I've got a flight, Taipei-Shenzhen-Melbourne (Australia).
Basically my flight will be delayed for 3 days in my transit point (Shenzhen).
So my plan is to leave Shenzhen and go to Hong Kong to spend 3 days there, then go back to Shenzhen after, for my flight to Melbourne.
Will the 144 hours visa-free transit work for that plan?

Nope you need a visa to go back to Shenzhen from HK by land. VOA may work but i'm not completely sure if you can exit Shenzhen by plane on a VOA.

I would like to confirm the statement made by CDKING and I will just add that Shenzhen VOA really allows the exit from China by air. So, you can proceed with your plans. Anyway, you should have in mind that you will need a ticket for ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong bought in advance because this will be your evidence in Taipei and Shenzhen that you are really eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Guangdong province. Also, keep in mind that you will have to plan to stay in Shenzhen for at least for 25 hours. The reason is simple, you cannot use 24 hours visa free transit in Shenzhen to exit to Hong Kong or Macau. So, plan to spend a night in Shenzhen before you proceed to Hong Kong.
