If we want to go to Great Wall, what is your recomendation, by Metro is it better? or by bus?

Some people said better to Mutian Yu side, because there is cable car. Kindly give us detail direction & what time we should start from Novotel Beijing Xinqiao ( Wanfujing area) if we only have one day to spend to Great Wall, and how to go back to Hotel? pse give time schedule as well if there is bus schedule that we should take. Thank u very much.
there will be 4 of us travelling, how much will it cost? ( The Transportation & the entry tickets, and where should we buy? , is it better in advance ? From Trip.com or any suggestion?) Thanks a lot
