About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Do I need another residence permit?

I have a student visa that doesn’t expire until 2023, however my residence permit expires on July 15th of this year. I’m planning to fly home for a few weeks in July, then fly back to China and spend a few weeks in my current city packing my stuff, and then I’ll be moving to a different city towards the end of August.

Would I need to apply for another residence permit for the few weeks I’d be back in my current city, or would I be fine without it?

As I know, you don't need to redo the physical exam again and you can show the exam results from the US.

I live in China, and I got another physical examination done like a month ago. I’m asking if I’d need to apply for another residence permit when I get back to China, if I’m planning to move to another city.

I live in Chongqing and I’m moving to Wuhan at the end of August, but I need to come back to Chongqing for a few weeks to pack my stuff. Would I need another residence permit for those few weeks?

Hi, you need to apply for another residence permit if you move to another city. Plus, you may not need to another residence permit for few weeks in Chongqing.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I know that I’ll need to get another residence permit when I move to another city, I just meant for last few weeks I’d be in Chongqing :)
