About:Exit Regulations of China

My friend is a Phillipino working in China, she wishes to visit Australia.

She has an Australian visa plus return airline tickets but has been advised she requires $2500usd at the airport immigration before her boarding pass will be issued. Is this correct ??

They never check this, they just ask to have some money in your bank account as proof that you can sustain your daily living expenses in Australia (its an expensive place) and won't become homeless or need to work violating the tourist visa. Its for the persons own protection and to make sure they don't go hungry or get stuck in the country etc.
