Sydney to Guangzhou on 144 Visa

I am currently living in GZ. My son and his wife wants to visit for max 5 days. What route should they take from Sydney? Ie. should it be Syd-HK-GZ-Syd? Also would it be possible for us to go to Sanya Bay for 2 nights during their visit? Thank you
