About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

London to Shanghai and Hangzhou to Hong Kong

Would this schedule be eligible for 72h visa free?

London to Shanghai by airplane. Train to Hangzhou and 1 overnight stay. Flight from Hangzhou to Hong Kong.

I need to be in Hangzhou for 1 night but there aren't any direct flights from London and we have no time to apply for a visa.

Yes that is fine. You can enter Shanghai and exit Hangzhou as they are both part of same transit zone. separate tickets are OK as well
