About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does a 72 hour visa cover the follow layover in Shanghai:

Flight In:
Denver - Vancouver - Shanghai (2 Day Layover)

Flight out:
Shanghai - Seoul - Denver

It covers the 144 hour transit (it used to be max 72hr) as long as you don't have any other landings not mentioned. For example if Vancouver to Shanghai is also via a Korean airport would cause an issue.
