About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I do this twice in a row?

Can I do this twice in a row (Canadian passport), e.g.

Canada - Beijing - Hong Kong - Guangdong - Canada?
or
Canada - Beijing - Hong Kong - Guangdong - Japan - Canada?

Could I stay 144 hours in China each time?

Both are fine. However for your visit to Guangdong you must fly from HK to Guangzhou, and land/sea travels will not work.
