About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have a UK passport

I would like to visit Beijing on the 72hour visa waiver. I will be staying in HK for the majority of my visit.

If I travel London-UK to HK to Beijing and then back to London-UK, would this route be eligible for the visa free transit visa?

No visa will be required for 144 hours as long as Beijing > London, does not make a landing in HK (even if just transit) otherwise a visa will be needed
