Is Japan-Shanghai-Sweden ok for 144 hr visa-free transit for a Swedish passport holder?

So if the flight from Shanghai to Sweden requires a landing in Beijing to change planes (I won't leave the airport), I will not be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai?0

Correct. Two stops in Beijing and Shanghai immediately limits you to 24 hours unless you get a visa.0

It is definitely OK, just take care that your flight from Shanghai to Sweden does not have any additional landing within mainland China with the exception of Shanghai.0
