About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

22 hours transit shanghai

Good day. I have a flight ticket from Jakarta to Toronto via Shanghai. It is dated May 26 2019, back on June 7, 2019.
When I returned to transit in Shanghai for 22 hours. Do I have to have a Shanghai visa? I booked a hotel in Da Zhong Pudong Airport Shanghai hotel when I was in transit. Should I stay at the hotel I must still have a Shanghai / China visa?
Here I send my ticket.
Thank you

Everything you should do is to count the hours from your first scheduled arrival in China to your last scheduled departure from China. If the number of hours is less than 24, then you are perfectly eligible for 24 hours visa free travel. Having in mind that you will stay in Shanghai for 22 hours, you have done a good move to book a hotel because like this you will be almost certainly allowed 24 hours free entry permit. So, this is the point, there is no Shanghai visa or anything similar, but entry permit that is free and that is granted to travelers having longer layovers. Please, just keep in mind to have your flight tickets and accommodation booking in printed form.
