About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need to inform the airline co I am flying with to Shanghai Pu Dong about 24h TWOV I need?

Hi again,
I would like to kindly ask if for this 24 hours visa free transit (TWOV) I also need to/must inform the airline company with whom I am travelling/flying to Shanghai Pu Dong Airport, about the situation. Meaning if I must let them know prior my arrival to Pu Dong Airport that I will need to get this 24 hours TWOV.
Thank you,
Carmen

Hello! Thank you for this information. I have informed The airline company with whom I am flying with to Shanghai about The situation And The need to get The 24 hours TWOV permit and They seemed a Little bit puzzled and concerned that I won’t get this 24 hours visa Free permit, but I Showed them your message and invoked The TIMATIC. I really hope that everything will be ok in Pudong AirPort, especially if I will firstly get The permit and only after that I will head toward The imigraration and change The terminal, as previously explained by YOU.

Hello! I confirm that everything went well in Shanghai Pudong AirPort with The 24 hours entry permit. I had no issues in getting it. I just want to make a clarification: after YOU get this permit, there is NO need to cross the immigration. Have a good day!

You will inform your airline company at the check-in counter. You really don't need to make any announcements before that. In case that they look confused, you will just kindly mention to them to consult the TIMATIC. Don't worry, you will travel painlessly, but I also suggest that you arrive at check in a bit before because of possible delay due to your requirement.

Trust me, dealing with customer services on phone is losing your time because they usually cannot help anybody with anything. Please, just appear at your departure airport, but an hour earlier that you have previously thought and you will see that you will be allowed to board the plane. After you have arrived in Shanghai you really do not apply for anything. Of course, you will apply for entry permit, but in case that you have to change the terminals or if you are not flying on through ticket or if your waiting time is long. There is simply no problem regarding it.
