About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

While residence permit is being processed, Can we travel in domestic China?

especially when we travel by train/plane. Can we use the yellow paper of application receipt or a copy of our passport as our ID card?

Olive, you can use the yellow paper of application receipt and a copy of your passport as your ID card. Plus, you'd better ask the Immigration Bureau to issue a proof letter.

Most of the time the company employees have never seen the paper. It is a constant hassle. My advise is to wait the two weeks for the Visa and card to be returned to you.
