About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling from Thailand to Indonesia, transit in Shanghai

Hi there,
I want to travel from Phuket to Shanghai, then to SG or Indonesia. I hold a Canadian Passport. Do I qualify for the 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit in China?

The route is fine, the citizenship is fine and the result is that you are perfectly eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai. By the way, you should take care that your flights to and from Shanghai do not have any additional landings within mainland China.
