London - Beijing - Manila

Hi,

I am a German national and flying London - Beijing - Manila. On my return flight to London I will have 21 hrs in Beijing and planning on sightseeing. I read that i would be able to apply for the 24 direct transit visa permit. I’ve read many things and just want to double check again before I book my hotel.

Thanks

Actually, you will be covered by 24 hours visa free transit (TWOV) and not by visa permit. Please, keep this in mind because the terminology is important to avoid any confusion. Also, while in Beijing, you will apply for entry permit based on your 24 hours visa free transit. Everything you have mentioned is fine, but keep in mind that you have your onward ticket and your accommodation booking confirmation in printed form. Like this, you will be allowed to exit the airport and explore the city and also to have an overnight in hotel and not in the airport.
