About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa for arrival at Beijing International airport and departure from Beijing Central Railway

Hi
We are arriving in Beijing by plane from London, staying one night and departing the next day to Ulan Bator on the train from Beijing Central. We all have EU passports. Are we eligible for transit visas? or do we have to pay for a full tourist visa? We are returning to the UK by train. Many thanks.

Unfortunately, your travel plan requires a visa. Trains departing from Beijing Central ("old") Railway Station are not eligible for any scheme of visa free travel. All the trains departing for Ulaanbaatar and further to Russia are not eligible as a way of visa free transit.
