About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

FRA -> PVG (first 144h) -> DMK -> DPS and return DPS -> KUL -> PVG (second 144h visa) -> FRA

will be OK? As I read, there will be no problem with free transit visa :D or maybe I need to return to PVG from the same airport (DMK instead of KUL). Thanks for help!

You have presented fine itinerary. It definitely qualifies for 144 hours visa free travel in both legs of your journey. There is no need to return to Shanghai from the same airport, i.e. from DMK. KUL is just fine. This is a detail that simply does not interest Chinese authorities. By the way, you are not applying for 144 hours transit visa, but for 144 hours visa free transit. This is very important to keep in mind because these are different things, so to avoid any possible misunderstanding.
