About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Double 144-hour exemption visa is possible ?

Hi.

I went to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Belgium to ask for a multi (2 entries) VISA for China. I brought all the necessary documents, but he people there told me I didn't need a Visa because I was eligible for the 144-hour exemption. Even if they were pretty sure of themselves, I'm not convinced that's possible with my trip.

I planned to round trip from Belgium to Shanghai, but visiting Hong Kong in between. I have booked a flight Belgium=>Shanghai, Shanghai=>Belgium, with 7 days between arrival and departure (arrival on 19th and departure on 26th). The fourth day (on the 22th), I' booked a single flight from Hangzhou to Hong Kong. After that, I booked a flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai on the 25th. Finally, on the 26th, I'm leaving Shanghai back to Belgium with the first flight I booked.

Will I get two distincts 144h-hour twov exemption each time I'll enter China via Shanghai ? Could you give me clarification ?

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Jonathan.

That's perfectly fine for 144-hour transit.

Hi! I'm in the same situation. Can you please let me know is it works fine for you? I'm from Brazil, I'm heading to Shanghai in April 26th, then HK, Vietnam, Philippines, back to Shanghai for 2 days, then back home.

I read on this web site, that I might be refused to go to China, because it might not be considered as "transit".

Here is what I read:

>

This apply for 72-hour visa rule, but I guess the rule should apply for the 144-hour.

They said:
- book all flights on the same itinerary
- use a reputable brick-and-mortar travel agency and not an online travel site to book complex trips.

Which is not my case.

I read on this forum that the 144-hour visa transit was delivered regardless the companies and flight we booked, but it's truly the case ?

Both of these points are simply not true.

If you have any further doubt, the last resort is always reaching out to Shanghai immigration office by phone. Whoever made these two requirements up is most likely promoting his own brick-and-mortar business which may be going out of business soon.
