The length of working visa

How many years of working/residence visa will one be usually granted for the first application if he/she is considered an A category applicant? Thanks.

As I know, after you get the work Z type, you can apply for the Chinese residence permit after the entry to China, and the duration would be one or two years for A category applicant.
