About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa Wuhan

I will travel to Whuhan and stay there for 5 full days, Fly in and out of Wuhan via Hongkong.
Purpose of travel is businessmeeting and factory visit in Wuhan area.
As I understand from your website no visa is required for this purpose, is this correct? or do I need to apply visa?

Thanks for clarifying this, as I have received feedback I stil need to apply a visum.

Thanks
Ruud

Ruud, your itinerary simply does not qualify for 144 hours visa free travel and the reason is simple... You are traveling from Hong Kong to Wuhan and returning to Hong Kong. As you can see, this is not a transit, but a return trip or better to say, a visit to Wuhan. In case that you want to go ahead with your above mentioned itinerary would require a Chinese visa.

Anyway, there is an alaternative... You can fly out from Hong Kong to Wuhan and return from Wuhan to Macau. Macau is very close to Hong Kong, so the transfer will not take too much time.

Please, have in mind that your flights Hong Kong - Wuhan and Wuhan - Macau have to be nonstop! There should not be any layover or landing at any other airport within mainland China. Nonstop only.
