About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Taipei to Shanghai to Taipei

If I fly from Taipei to Shanghai on Day 1, Stay 1 night at a hotel in Shanghai, and fly back to Taipei on day 2, will I qualify for the 72-hour free transit?
I am flying on a Canadian passport.

That's not a transit, that's a visit to China. Therefore it obviously does not qualify for free transit.
