L2 Tourist visa re-entry

Hello, my family is visiting me in China and they have an L2 tourist. If they wanted to visit Thailand for a few days, would they be able to re-enter China afterward? They've already bought their round trip tickets from Chicago to China and they're only staying two weeks. They just want to visit Thailand while they're in Asia before returning.

It depends on whether they have multiple-entry visas. If it says 01 after "entries" then their visa will cease to be valid once they have left China. They may still qualify for 72/144-hour transit depending on their flights and where you are located. If it says something otherwise then they can just re-use the visa to enter.
