About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Just denied entry

Hi, thanks for this post. I was just denied a 24hr visa in Guangzhou Airport. There are 18.5 hours between my arrival and departure. I've never been to China before. My passport is valid for another 4.5 months. Flights booked on same itinerary with China Southern, taking me from Australia to Paris. I'm an EU citizen. Never been involved in any anti Chinese or criminal activities.
Any ideas why my 24twov was denied? One security staff said it might be because my passport expires end of August 2019.
anyone I can talk to here who might be able to help? I guess time is running and I have to find a way to enjoy the airport, so suggested activities in the airport to help me pass time are also welcome :)

It doesn't exist a 24h visa in China.
I think you mean the immigration denied you a temporary permit to leave the airport?
Well if you're on a 24h transit there's no guarantee that the immigration will give you a temporary permit, it's up to the officer on duty.

You were not denied 24 hours transit without visa. You were denied the temporary entry permit. If you had booked a hotel, you may have been allowed to enter China.
