About:China Private Visit Visa

I am applying for Shanghai job, can I take my partner with me, we don't have any children

The S1 says:
'those who intend to go to China for other private affairs'

Does my partner visiting or staying with me count as 'other private affair'?

Also can my partner visit for 6 months on tourist visa, then how long before she can come back for another stay?

If you have marriage certificate, your partner can apply for S1 type and get the Chinese residence permit later, which has multiple entries and more than 6-month validity.
