Short stay in Shanghai, then leaving China but returning for a short stay en-route back to UK

Hello
My wife and I (both UK citizens) will be arriving as tourists into Shanghai on Wed 23rd October 2019 at 05.20am. We have booked 4 nights at a central Shanghai hotel.
We leave China on Sunday 27th October at 18.00 and travel on to Bali.
We will have been in Shanghai for 96 hours.

Enroute back to the UK we again pass through Shanghai. We arrive on Monday 4th November at 07.30am, and leave on Tuesday 5th November at 01.45am. This is another 18 hours and 15 minutes in Sh.

In total we will have been in Sh for 114 hours and 15 minutes.

Would the 144 hour no visa requirement apply given then we would be entering China twice?
Thank you

Yes, you can get free transit in Shanghai in both directions. No visa will be required. Nice trip.
