About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

visiting Hong Kong from Guangzhou

I will be flying into Guangzhou from Lhasa with a single entry Chinese visa. I have 5 days to spend in Guangzhou. During those 5 days, I would like to visit Hong Kong. However, I have to return to Guangzhou to catch a flight back to Canada. Is there a visa I can get at the Guangzhou airport that will allow me to go to Hong Kong for a few days, and then return to Guangzhou to catch my flight? Thanks!

If you take a flight from HK to Guangzhou back, then you can stay up to 72h in Guangzhou again before you fly back to Canada (but your flight to Canada can't have a stop in China, if so your time in Guangzhou is limited to 24h then).
