What is the best route from Hong Kong to Shantou?

My Family will be going from HK to Shantou in May 2019.

Can anyone advise what is the best route?

You are suggested to take bullet train from HK West Kowloon Railway Station to Chaoshan Railway Station. The train schedules are from 07:23 to 16:40. The duration is around 3 hours. After arriving, there are many direct shuttle buses that can take you to Shantou.
