About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London to Beijing by air, Beijing to Hong Kong by train

If we arrive by air from London in Beijing on Friday morning, can we get the train to Hong Kong on Sunday night or Monday morning? I thought we would been to leave by Air, but just saw that Beijing West Railway Station is an acceptable exit point. Much more fun to get the train than to fly! Thanks!

Those who transit in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei can enter and exit from Capital International Airport, Beijing West Railway Station, Binhai International Airport, Tianjin International Cruise Home Port, Zhengding International Airport or Qinhuangdao Beidaihe International Airport.

You are eligible for the free transit if Beijing is your only stop in mainland China.

Be careful, because I have a feeling that not all trains qualify because they would stop elsewhere in China. Also you would need your train ticket in your hand when you check in at London, and that can be problematic too. Yes, more fun to get the train but potentially more problems, unless you get a visa.
