About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

If i was given 10 day to find a new school or exit and i didn’t, now i have been in china for 5 mont

If i was given 10 day to find a new school or exit and i didn’t, now i have been in china for 5 months no school no work but my student visa is still valid and i need to exit. Whats the punishment?

If you have overstayed in mainland China, you are supposed to accept the fine of 500 RMB per day, but the capped amount won't exceed CNY10,000, and other penalties.

In addition to the 10k RMB fine, 5 months is very likely to result in detention in some large municipalities. If you don't pay then you don't get to leave.
