hi i’m arriving in guangzhou 8am march 20 for 23 hours.

Question

My airline will give me a choice of hotel on arrival. What area should I try to stay near. I’d like to eat in a traditional Cantonese food street, go shopping for clothes, see the opera house and some old historic streets, parks. If my hotel is near the airport, what area should I head for to spend about 8 hours wandering around? Thanks you for any advice, regards, caroline

If you will stay around the airport, I kindly suggest you choose the hotel also nearby the subway station so that you can easier access to downtown. The most popular food street is the Huifu East Road, which is 500 meters long and east of Beijing Road. Beijing Road commercial pedestrian street is located in the center of Guangzhou, so it is also a good place for shopping.
