About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

do i need a visa if i am a sri lankan citizen with a US Permanent Resident Card w/connecting flight?

I will be travelling from Colombo Sri Lanka to San Francisco USA. I have a connecting flight in Hong Kong that has less than a 24 hour layover. Do I need a Chinese VISA for this travel?

Sri Lankans need visas for HK even when in transit and do not leave the sterile transit area. Your GC is irrelevant to HK Immigration. You need to apply directly to HK Immigration Department and it may take more than a month to get your visa.
