About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I fly from Lax to PEK then CAN - LAX with a 72hr visa?

I have a layover in Xi'an before Beijing and want to stay there for a day in a half then fly to Phuket, I will be flying to Guangzhou then back to LAX with another layover in Xi'an. Am i able to do so with a 72hr visa? Given I will be in Beijing for a day and a half and Guangzhou less than a day with a 23 hr layover in Xi'an.

There is no 72 hour visa. There is a transit visa waiver. You must fly without stop to the third country to do this. You cannot travel between Xian and Beijing using the visa-free transit. Good news is US Passport can apply for a 10 year visa but this must be competed through consulate in the US before you fly
