Attending graduate school in china, z visa switch to x visa

Hi,

I have been working in China for about a year and a half on a z. I plan on attending a chinese graduate program in september, and I will need to switch to an x. I can't find much information about this process. Do you know how this might work?

It's possible for you to switch Z to X type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. You can go there to inquire the details.
