About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would this be eligible?

I will be travelling from London to Shanghai and staying a weekend then flying onto Hong Kong and staying there for 2 weeks before flying back from Hong Kong to London. Would this be acceptable as Hong Kong is technically part of China so I am not 100%. Also does anyone have any experience with this as the last thing I'd want is it to be rejected, it's a shame this can't be accepted or denied before travelling.

Hong Kong is considered separate from China when it comes to transit. Make sure your London to Shanghai flight does not also go through Hong Kong airport even for 1 minute or it will be viewed as Hong Kong > Shanghai > Hong Kong which invalidates the rest of the itinerary.
