About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

Do i need a visa for a quick transit?

Hi,
Ill be flying to singapore from seattle in about 3 weeks time. My flight is gonna stop in hongkong for an hour before heading to singapore. Do i need entry permit for that? Im not even gona be exitting the plane. Please help me here.

Yes, you need a visa or will be refused boarding. Nepalis need visas even when in direct transit and not leaving the plane.

So should i do then? I read somewhere in one of the posts below that its impossible to get a hk visa in less than a month. Ive got only 3 weeks before i fly.

You can
1) fax your document to HK Immigration before mailing them (instructions are on the immigration department's website) in which case the visa is likely to be processed and shipped in 3 weeks, or
2) have someone you know in HK to submit the application and retrieve the visa sticker and get it to you, or
3) change your flights so they don't stop in HK (e.g., reroute to Mainland China or Taiwan instead).
If you decide to apply for a visa, then make sure you have the visa sticker inside your passport before you check-in for your flight.
