Dog or Rooster? My birthday is on 12 Jan 1994.

Whenever I searched my complete birth date. It's said that I'm born under the Rooster year. But when I only searched the year, I'm a Dog.
Most of character defines under the Dog year. And only find some from Rooster year. Does it mean I'm in between the two? What does this means?
