About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight HK-Beijing-HK

I will be flying to Beijing from Hong Kong to visit family. Then leave from Beijing back to Hong Kong 2 days after. Can I apply for the 72 hour twov?

You need a visa. There isn't a 72 hour visa, and because you're not in transit you don't qualify for transit without visa.
