About:China Transit Visa

Flying into Beijing with MIAT and then departing 4 hours later with Singapore

If I’m flying into Beijing with MIAT and then departing approx 5 hours later with Singapore airlines back to Perth, do I need to go through customs, collect luggage and check in again with Singapore?

If the travel route wold be Australia-Beijing-Singapore-Perth, you can use the free transit in Beijing, and you can apply for it at the immigration counter after arrival. Please contact with the airlines to ask if your luggage will be delivered to the final destination directly. If yes, you don’t need to claim it after arrival.
