About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight from Kathmandu to Beijing

My flight from Kathmandu to Beijing requires a plane change in Guangzhou. My transfer will take 3 hours. I then fly onto Beijing where I will obtain a 144 hour twov.
Am I correct?
My onward journey destination is Hong Kong.

You won't qualify for the 144h twov in Beijing because of the layover in Guangzhou. You need a visa for the trip.
