Transit on arrival in wuhan

Hi, me (Malaysian) and my friend (British) will be having 15hrs transit in Wuhan Airport on 3rd March 19 before connecting another flight to London the next day. As far as i am aware, British enjoys 72hrs twov in Wuhan but not Malaysian. We are planning to leave the airport and stay a night in the city before coming back to the airport for the connecting flight to London the next day. Would i be able to apply for transit voa in wuhan airport as I wouldnt have time for a nornal application now. Thank you.
