About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Shanghai 144 hour visa from UK

Hello,

i'm from the UK and the UK government website states;
If you’re transiting China, visa waivers are available in certain places. Visitors transiting through Shanghai can apply online for a 144 hour twov exemption via the Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection. In other visa waiver transit locations, applications must be made in person on arrival.

if i'm travelling to Shanghai do i have to go via the Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection website to apply? or can i just apply at the airport as your website suggests? I'd much prefer to apply following the 6 steps mentioned in this guide, i'm just confused as to why the UK official government website would suggest the Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection website?

thank you

Hi, personally I think you can just apply at the airport. If you are worried, you can contact the Shanghai immigration to confirm that beforehand.
