Documents for 144hr Visa Free Transit

Hi the information and photo here says ticket to a third country with confirmed seat and date is required.
Is it possible to have just the booking confirmation email as if different airlines are used would be not possible to get onward boarding passes? Also is seat number required as booking confirmation may not show seat number if seat is not selected when tickets were purchased?
Hope someone can answer these questions?
