About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Day visa

My family travelling from NY to New Delhi via Shanghai by China eastern, and the Layover almost 16 hours,
since we are Holding US passport, Do we need any Visa to go out for shopping during our long waiting?

You can do the 24 hour transit without visa. Entry permit to leave airport is up to immigration discretion if you can leave the airport during a 24 hour transit. More likely to get if you have hotel overnight but even that is not guaranteed some days.
