About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Visa length for UK & Irish citizens ?

I & my wife both applied for Chinese visas, my wife has a UK passport & her entry permit is valid for 2 years, I have an Irish passport & Chinese visa is only valid for 6 months !
Why such a difference in length of entry permit issued for both nationality S

As I know, Irish citizens cannot get 2-year visa.
