About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

using 144 hour visa with 2 round trip tickets

USA -> PVG
PVG->USA is a round trip ticket
and in the middle is pvg ->thailand
thailand -> pvg.

does this qualify for the trip?

Yes, as long as PVG is your only stop in Mainland China.
