About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Wuhan

I’m traveling from Taiwan to USA, transit in Wuhan, so the definition:

A: departure country ⇒ B: Wuhan ⇒ C: the third country or region

Since there’s no direct flight from WuHan to USA, can we do WuHan ⇒ Beijing ⇒ USA in same day for this visa free program in Wuhan?

You will not be able to take advantage of the 144 hour transit. This will limit you to the 24 hour direct transit. Your flight exiting China from Beijing must be scheduled to depart less than 24 hours from your scheduled arrival in the first city in mainland China (Wuhan)
