About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

stop at begining and end of trip?

We are US citizens, can we travel Tokyo-Beijing-Phillipines (7 day stay)-Shanghai-Tokyo and use the 72 hour visa in both Beijing and then shanghai? Thank you
