About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Canadian connecting through Beijing, Kunming, to Vientiane Laos

We are flying to Laos with 2 hr stop over in Beijing then to Kunming with an 8 hr stopover, final destination Vientiane Laos. Is it safe for a Canadian and do I need a visa for the stopovers?

yes 24 hours total including flight from landing in Beijing to scheduled departure in Kunming.

It's safe and you don't need a visa.
