About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi I am travelling to visit friends in Hong Kong. I stay in Hong Kong for 4 days and then will travel from Hong Kong to Beijing for tourism and will be in Beijing for 70 hours (from flight arrival to departure time). I will then return to Hong Kong for 5 days before coming back to UK. Do I qualify for the 72 hour free transit?

HK - Beijing - HK is not a transit and you need a visa for this trip.

Fly HK (Macau) - Beijing - Macau (HK) and you're fine for the 144h twov.
