About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London-Beijing-London

Hi, could i qualify for the 144 hour visa if i just travel to/from London / Beijing on a return ticket?

Of course that will not qualify for transit without visa (there is no "144 hour visa") because it's a visit to China and not a transit. You need a visa or different flights.
